According to a new report from the AFL-CIO, more than 100 people in the United States die every day as a result of work related accidents.
An article in the Huffington Post states that, “Americans are 271 times more likely to die from a workplace accident than from a terrorist attack.” Not only that, but about 3.8 million Americans suffer from work-related injuries and diseases each year, and that number may even be higher due to underreporting.
“Workplace safety and injuries in the workplace are a huge issue in the United States,” exclaims Alvin H. Broome of NYC personal injury firm, Alvin H. Broome & Associates. “Workplace safety is not monitored closely enough and employees need to be better protected from harm.”
